Final Senior Series
Fine Art Photo Series
Over the past 6 weeks I have worked on my final senior photography series. I always have trouble coming up with ideas for fine art photography that has meaning behind it and does not end up looking like a regular "senior photo".
This series started in a completely different direction involving athletics. For this project I wanted to show that there is more to me than the athletics and traditional portrait photography. Which is why I chose to do black and white portraits with harsh lighting conditions and showing intense emotion.
However, I fell in love with the colored edits as well. For this reason I chose to make the focus of my series a combination of black and white and colored portraits, using harsh lighting conditions, creating interesting textures by shooting through glass and use of background, as well as showing intense emotion.
Another thing that makes this series unique is that all of the models are family members, and they are all shot on my grandparents farm. It can be hard to photograph family especially for this type of series because it can be uncomfortable on both sides. When you have a close family, it makes it a lot easier. Don't let these photos fool you, there are more pictures of them laughing at themselves than being serious.
